St Catherine’s Cross Country Ski Team Conquers the Peak
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the 2019 Victorian Interschools Cross Country Championships and contributed towards St Catherine’s overall school win in the Girls Secondary School Division Championship. The St Catherine’s girls displayed outstanding effort and teamwork as they raced a challenging Tirol Flat racecourse.
St Catherine’s had a number of outstanding individual performances in the Classic Race. Most notably, our Division 2 girls who finished in the top three positions on the podium, 30 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. The following students demonstrated outstanding determination and skill to deliver strong performances for St Catherine’s:

As always, the key to St Catherine’s success was the strong support of team racing. This was evident through the outstanding team performances achieved by all St Catherine’s teams. St Catherine’s had over 20 teams racing at the Championships, in some divisions that was three or more teams. Every team member gave it their all to do their best for their school. The following teams recorded top five places for St Catherine’s:

A big congratulations and thank you must be given to our Year 12 representatives: Celia Cody, Annelise Cody and Emily Sutherland. These girls continued to represent their school with pride, giving it their all and encouraging a new generation of Cross Country skiers do their best for St Catherine’s. St Catherine’s School greatly appreciates the leadership and aspiration these students have provided to the Snowsports community.
Division 3 Classic.
Overall, the St Catherine’s Senior School Team finished on 64 points, ahead of Methodist Ladies’ College (50 points) and Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School (40 points).
With such strong performances, many of our St Catherine’s team members shall qualify through to the Australian Championships in September. Thank you to all the parents and staff, particularly Mr Tom Crebbin, Mr Fiachra Barry and Mrs Gina Peele, for all their support and wisdom on the mountain. The girls are excited by the challenges that lie ahead at the nationals.
