Results from Head of the Schoolgirls Rowing Regatta 2019

This year was another history making Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta for St Catherine’s School Rowing.
The history-making this year was led by our Senior Rowing crews. It is the first time that St Catherine’s School Rowing has managed medal placings in both Division 1 and Division 2 in the Senior 8 Divisions.
In addition to this, it is the first time that every single St Catherine’s School crew in Junior, Intermediate and Senior Rowing were in the top eight of their division with either A or B Final appearances. This is significant, as there are up to 24 entries in Year 9 Divisions. This is a testament to our young and developing team of Junior and Intermediate coaches, but most importantly to our St Catherine’s School Students.

However, results aside, the most impressive thing from my stand point, was the way in which our students conducted themselves throughout the weekend. We assess ourselves on how well we fulfil our ‘Three Ps’ (Preparation, Pride and Professionalism), and this season the students were at their absolute best. Honesty of effort of the students was fantastic. They supported each other well, were respectful to each other and the opposition, and had fun. We are all very excited to see the girls continue to enjoy their rowing in the coming season.
