It is difficult to fathom how quickly this year has gone, as we embark upon the final term for 2017. This time last year, I remember vividly meeting with the current Year 7 students during the transition interviews and discussing many topics, one of which was what they were looking forward to in Year 7. Now, these same students are ensconced into the full program of the secondary curriculum and enthusiastically partaking in every facet of the Senior School.

This term, the Year 7 students can look forward to another busy term filled with exciting events, most notably the Years 7 and 8 musical, Honk Jr! The cast and crew have been rehearsing tirelessly and it promises to be a wonderful showcase of our talented performers. The cohort can also look forward to their first ever House Arts at St Catherine’s School and auditions and revelations about what each House can expect have been made during House Meetings. With such an enthusiastic and committed year level, I have no doubt that each Year 7 student will enjoy their first House Arts week immensely and will participate fully in the program.

The Year 7s also enjoyed four days of camp during the last week of Term 3 at Camp Jungai, where they built rafts as part of a team-building exercise, challenged themselves on a high ropes course and hiked up to the top of a mountain. Each participant on the camp conducted themselves exceptionally well by maintaining positivity and enthusiasm throughout the camp and this display of perseverance is emblematic of this year level.

It is hoped that the girls approach this final term of Year 7 with as much fervour as they have demonstrated throughout this year.
