Melbourne captain, Jack Viney visits Junior School
On Tuesday 2 May, St Catherine’s Junior School was treated to a football clinic by eight Melbourne Football Club players. Our girls received expert instruction in handball, marking and kicking.
One popular segment was the question and answer session where the girls got the opportunity to ask Melbourne captain, Jack Viney any questions they wanted. It was great to hear about his training commitments, recovery sessions, university education and favourite movies.
Congratulations Portia Gowrie
Congratulations to Portia Gowrie (Year 4S) who competed in the School Sport Victoria State swimming championships on Wednesday 26 April.
Portia recorded a time of 39.67 to finish 4th in the 50m Butterfly and a time of 36.19 to finish 5th in the 50m Freestyle.
It was a fantastic effort by Portia to progress all the way from District level to State Championships.
