Victorian Parents Council Meeting

St Catherine’s is hosting the Victorian Parents Council (VPC) meeting on Wednesday 15 March in the Sherren House Ballroom commencing at 10.00am.

The VPC are the body that represents parents of Independent Schools in Victoria. Their main functions are to provide education and training to parents and teachers, plus advising Governments on the needs of children in Private and Catholic Schools.

All parents of St Catherine’s are invited to come along and learn about what the VPC does. The VPC are excited to have Casper Pieters as a guest speaker; an educator and instructional designer who has been working to make the tenets of digital citizenship accessible to a wider audience, including students, parents and teachers.

Digital Citizenship is a wide-ranging subject that is emerging from the technology revolution. It is about understanding how to be safe, savvy and social online and is vital for this new generation as they explore the endless possibilities, good and bad, cyberspace has to offer. Parents have been notably missing in the global discussion on how to raise kids in this hyper-connected world, but it is imperative that parents and Schools work together in their effort to raise digitally savvy citizens.

We hope you can join us for this informative event.
