In Barbreck, the Writers’ Club is a group of budding authors from the Year 5 and Year 6 Cohorts. This Co-curricular Program aims to promote the joy of writing as a creative expression for our students.  

This year in Writers’ Club, students have explored the genres of narratives and persuasives. While engaging with these text types, the students have developed their imaginative and analytical writing skills.  

The girls have incorporated various language and structural features to produce work through technological mediums.  

Each week, students not only write, but also present their stories and arguments to the group, building their confidence to speak publicly.  

When asked what they have enjoyed about Writers’ Club, the girls noted: 

“Writing Club is a place to express your imagination, all while improving your writing.” 

“It’s lots of fun!”

“I like being able to collaborate with my friends when writing.”
