Class of 2023

What co-curricular activities or clubs were you involved in? What did you learn from these?
Participating in co-curricular activities that have enabled me to meet new people from different Year levels. I have been involved in Debating, Music Ensembles, such as Concert Band and the Orchestra, and GSV Sports, such as Tennis. I have learned the skills of what it takes to be a part of a good team and how to communicate effectively with my peers to be a good leader and role model to girls in the younger years.

What were your favourite subjects?
Throughout School, my favourite subject has always been Mathematics. In Year 9, when we got to experience different electives, I found my love for the Humanities subjects, such as Economics and Global Politics.

Can you describe a significant academic achievement or project you’re proud of?
One significant achievement that I’m proud of is when I got accepted into Maths Honours in Year 8! I felt like a Maths prodigy when I found out I got accepted.

How do you handle challenges or setbacks in your academic pursuits?
Whenever I face challenges in my academic pursuits, I always converse with my teachers and tell them how I’m feeling and ask them how I can improve.

What do you plan to study post School?
Commerce.

Where do you hope to study?
Melbourne University.

How do you believe St Catherine’s and your teachers have helped you reach your goals?
The teachers at St Catherine’s and the wider community have always had a great level of support and care for their students and this has ensured that each student can strive for their best. This supportive community has ensured that I can achieve each of my goals to my fullest potential.

What skills or knowledge have you gained during your education that you believe will be valuable in your future career?
During my education at St Catherine’s, I have gained communication, leadership, and delegation skills, which enables me to be a part of a cohesive team, but to also be a good leader to others.

In 2023, the Year 12 theme was ‘Conquer.’ What does this mean to you?
The theme of Conquer means to take on any challenge that comes my way and not be afraid of what the future holds. In other words, it means to persevere and be curious.

What advice would you provide to future Year 12 students?
Don’t overthink everything, take on any challenge that comes your way, enjoy, and cherish the last moments that you have with your Cohort, and have fun! Year 12 is one of the most special and fun years of high school so make sure to make the most of it!
