St Catherine’s has a wide range of extension and enhancement activities for students to achieve their potential by recognising individual differences and learning needs.

Junior School and Senior School students undertake a range of research-based assessments providing an in-depth understanding of their learning capabilities.

Our commitment to Inclusive Education ensures student mentoring is offered to individual students. Extension opportunities, including our Academic Honours Program, writing and poetry competitions, public speaking, visits with authors, the Da Vinci Decathlon, Tournament of the Minds and the international education program – Future Problem Solvers – are designed to challenges students to apply their minds to some of the significant issues facing the world of today and the future.

As a member of the Boroondara Gifted Cluster we also work with a number of local schools to provide regular, challenging and stimulating activities for groups of highly able students. Many students are also offered enhancement activities including students in Year 12 who may select to do university subjects as part of their course.

At Years 9 and 10 students have further, more individualised, opportunities for both extension outside of the classroom and also for enhancement.
