Meet our New Head Coach of Netball

We are delighted to welcome Natalie Mathews to the St Catherine’s community as our new Head Coach of Netball.
Natalie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, with an impressive coaching and playing career that spans national, international, and high-level representative Netball. She has made a significant impact in the sport, currently serving as the National Head Coach for Tifamoana and the Assistant Head Coach for the Samoa U21 Netball Team.
Natalie’s experience includes extensive representative Netball coaching, where she has consistently developed players to perform at their best in competitive, high-performance environments. She has worked at elite levels both locally and internationally, and her leadership as the former Captain of the Indoor Netball NZ World Cup team is a testament to her deep understanding of the game and her ability to inspire athletes.
In addition to her on court expertise, Natalie is passionate about player wellbeing, mental health performance and sport psychology, holding a Bachelor of Health Science with a major in Psychology. She is committed to supporting athletes holistically, helping them build confidence and resilience both in sport and in life.
Natalie has also served as Netball Director at St Dominic’s Catholic College and holds Development, Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced Coaching accreditations.
Natalie will be relocating from New Zealand to Melbourne with her partner Scott and their two daughters, Bella and Amaiyah and we are excited to welcome them all to the St Catherine’s community.
We look forward to the energy, expertise, and care Natalie will bring to our netball program. Please join us in giving Natalie and her family a very warm St Catherine’s welcome!
