Harmony Week
This week, St Catherine’s has come alive with color, music, and the spirit of togetherness as we celebrated Harmony Week! This special week was all about embracing diversity, fostering inclusion, and appreciating the many cultures that make up our vibrant community.
A Week of Connection and Celebration
Monday – Everyone Belongs
We kicked off Harmony Week with an inspiring Senior School Assembly, where students and staff reflected on the meaning of inclusivity. During lunch, the Flag Tree Hand Decorations outside the library encouraged students to leave their mark, symbolising unity through art.
Tuesday – Good Fortune
Creativity and fun took centre stage with an Origami Workshop, where students folded intricate designs representing luck and prosperity. The energy soared at the KPOP Karaoke & Dance Party, proving that music truly brings people together. And, of course, the Yumpling Food Truck was a hit, serving up delicious dumplings and sushi that showcased the flavours of Asian cuisine.
Wednesday – A Universal Language
Music is a language everyone understands, and at Global Music Appreciation, St Catherine’s filled with beats and melodies from around the world. This celebration of sound highlighted the unifying power of rhythm and song.
Thursday – Cultural Dress & UN French Language Day
Students and staff embraced cultural diversity by wearing traditional outfits or a touch of orange, a symbol of Harmony Week’s message of inclusivity. The Crepes for Change Food Truck offered a delicious way to celebrate French culture, with sweet treats that brought people together over a shared love of food.
Harmony Week is more than just a series of events—it is a reminder that our differences make us stronger. Through music, food, language, and creativity, we celebrated the beauty of diversity and the importance of inclusion in our school community.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this week an unforgettable experience! Let us continue to embrace, respect, and celebrate each other every day.
