Barbreck House Athletics

What a perfect day for House Athletics! The shining sun, a new track, eager girls and great conditions all assisted in a wonderful day of House Athletics at the Duncan MacKinnon Athletics track on Monday 17 June.

This year saw the first running of the ‘Blue Ribbon’ sprint event. The results are listed in the table below:

Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6
1st Arabella Foote Olivia Barr Emma Peele Linda Wan

Finalists from the Blue Ribbon sprint event.

This is an important event as it allows the girls to compete for their House in field and track events as well as giving us the times and distances to select our District Team Training squad.

The relays were a thrilling way to end our day as nearly every girl had the opportunity to run in them. Many races across the day were very close finishes, which made the results exciting.

As girls proudly displayed their many coloured ribbons they sat anxiously awaiting the final scores.

This year, the House Athletics Trophy was won by Beaulieu Blair. House Captains Chloe Barber (Year 6) and Mietta Jenkins (Year 6) were delighted with their team’s performances.

The final results were:

  • 1st Beaulieu Blair: 964
  • 2nd Davis: 876
  • 3rd Langley Templeton: 754
  • 4th Holmes Kilbride: 654

All the Barbreck girls should be very proud of their effort, conduct and performance.
