Red Shield Appeal

On Friday 25 May, sixty four girls from Years 7-12 volunteered their time after school to raise money for the Red Shield Appeal. In preparing for the door knock Mr Kyle Schroder, the Youth Pastor from the Salvation Army, spoke at Assembly. We also posted a short video on the St Catherine’s portal for the girls to watch, that highlighted the importance of hope and displayed the many ways which the Salvation Army assists those in need.

On the day our Community Service Co-Captain, Maddie Leggo, was ill but Sarah Steven stepped in to help me organise the groups and provide them with the necessary equipment. All the girls were extremely enthusiastic and cooperative and conducted themselves respectfully while outside of the school.

Maddie and I would like to thank everyone who participated. We could have not have raised an impressive $1015 without your support for this worthwhile cause. We urge all girls to continue contributing to this annual event!
