During the week of Tuesday 29 August to Friday 1 September our Senior School Gymnastics Team competed in the Victorian Inter School Gymnastics Championships. With a team of 68 girls, St Catherine’s proudly placed 3^rd in the Championships out 25 schools!

Day 1 began with our A2 division girls and Year 8 Junior D division team performing. The team of Annabel Whiter (Year 9), Alexandra Cullen (Year 12) and Chloe Whiter (Year 6) performed beautifully, especially on floor placing 2^nd. While the Year 8 team of Elodie Ferrali, Anouk Heidenreich, Charlotte Stern, Katherine Lee, Tabitha Manson and Eliza Mailer placed 1^st in their division, with Anouk, Katherine, Elodie and Tabitha placing 2^nd, 3^rd, 6^th and 8^th individually.

Day 2 saw a tight tussle between our Year 12 Senior E division girls compete in their final Inter School Gymnastics competition. It would be the last time they would don the sparkly leotard for St Catherine’s. Our teams consisted of Julia Rossi, Stephanie Jones, Letecia Robertson and Jessica Devlin who placed 4^th and Sophie Sitch, Georgina McNab, Bridget Lieberman and Chloe Page who placed 3^rd. Jessica Devlin placing 3^rd individually.

Day 3 was our busiest day with seven teams scheduled to compete. Our Year 7 Junior Division D team of Emma Froomes, Penelope Glenning, Clarence Houle-O’Connor, Isabella Brooker, Sarah Marriott and Zara Bongiorno lead to charge, placing 1^st, with Clara, Poppy, Emma and Isabella placing 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, and 5^th individually.

Following this were our Years 7 and 8 Division E team of Allegra Dennison (Year 8), Chloe Joubert (Year 8), Isabella Mangano (Year 8), Olivia Nash (Year 8), India Marner (Year 7) and Bronte Cullen (Year 7). The competition was tough but the girls performed wonderfully to place 5^th with Allegra placing 3^rd individually.

Next up was the Year 7 Junior E Division team of Rosie Osborn, Olivia Cunningham, Chloe Marshall, Lucy Bainbridge and Emma Turner who represented St Catherine’s wonderfully, placing 2^nd with Rosie and Chloe placing 1^st and 2^nd.

Our Years 11 and 12 D Division team of Stephanie Ferrali (Year 11), Allyson Alblas (Year 11), Caroline Sawers (Year 11), Juliet Grant (Year 11), Lucy Church (Year 12) and Isabel Gray (Year 11) produced beautiful floor routines to place 4^th against some very tough competitors.

The Year 9 D division team of Isabella McDonald, Julia Stern, Ruby Morton, Julia Thompson and Nina Pigram continued our amazing run by placing 2^nd, with Isabella and Nina placing 5^th and 6^th.

The final teams to represent St Catherine’s were the Years 10 and 11 Division E girls. The team of Darcy Christie (Year 10), Emily Sutherland (Year 10), Lily Trosdal Ryan (Year 10), Lauren Lew (Year 10) and Annabel Joubert (Year 11) placed 1^st and the team of Demi Markakis (Year 11), Babette Buddle (Year 11), Jasmine Pearce Higgins (Year 11), Lucy Porter (Year 11 ) and Georgia Deacon (Year 12) placed 4^th with Lily and Jasmine placing 2^nd and 5^th.
