The second week of the school holidays saw a group of St Catherine’s runners head to Aireys Inlet for Cross Country Camp. For the second year running, the cross country team tackled some challenging sessions, including the Distillery Creek handicap and the infamous Sunnymeade Hills session. Along with these challenging sessions, the group also had some beautiful long runs along the beaches of Fairhaven and up around the Aireys lighthouse. The group gave 100% effort and should be very prepared heading into the cross country season.

The cross country team is looking forward to a big Term 2. Training is open to all students on a Tuesday afternoon, 3.30pm-4.45pm and Thursday mornings, 6.45am-8.00am. Attending these sessions will best prepare students for the upcoming Athletics Victoria and GSV Cross Country competitions. All St Catherine’s Cross Country information can be found here.

In an exciting initiative by the St Catherine’s Sport Auxiliary, this year we shall also be hosting a community fun run to raise money for Freeze MND (Motor Neuron Disease). This run shall be open to the wider St Catherine’s School community and will be held at the Tan on Sunday 7 May, 9.00am-11.00am. More information will be filtered through the Blue Ribbon and mystcatherines portal over the next coming weeks. However, for those keen runners out there please mark this in your dairies!

Looking forward the running season ahead.
