News from Year 5: Golden Valleys Camp

Amidst the lush landscape and the rolling hills of Golden Valleys Camp in Flinders an adventure took place for our Years 5 and 6 students.
From Monday April 22 to Wednesday April 28, the girls embarked on a journey filled with excitement, teamwork, and personal growth. Students had the opportunity to challenge themselves physically and mentally while making lasting memories and friendships.
The Camp’s itinerary was filled with thrilling activities designed to push the students out of their comfort zones and into an extraordinary adventure. Among the highlights were:
- Leap of Faith
- Salty Surf Program
- Giant Swing
- Vertical Challenge
- Low Ropes
Throughout the Camp, students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, embrace new experiences and support one another through teamwork.
From cheering each other on during challenging activities, to sharing stories and laughter during the Trivia Night, friendships were formed, and memories were made.
Quotes from each group:
Group One
“My favourite activity from camp was the leap of faith where you climb up on small metal pedals up a pole and you jump off at the top, many others feared jumping, but in the end, I had FAITH in our guide to keep me safe and sound. My favourite part of the whole camp was the food because for dinner on the first night we had schnitzel and baked potato which was delicious (especially the potato).” Julia Wong
Group Two
“Camp was extravagant, the leap of faith jumped out of my expectations. I loved how I got to meet some new people and got to know some others better.” Amelia (Millie) Macrae
Group Three
“My favourite activity during the day was the giant swing because it felt like your soul left your body and you have no clue when you’re going to drop. My favourite night activity was trivia night with Chip because he was the funniest person I’ve ever met, and he had a Texas accent.” Kate (Katie) Kemp
Group Four
“I loved camp because it allowed me to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone as well as being able to learn new things. I enjoyed how everyone got to bond and learn more about each other.” Ella Pattison
Group Five
“Camp was the best experience of my lifetime. The giant swing swung out of my expectations. Camp was spectacular!!” Georgia Ktenavos
