I am thrilled to announce that Term 2 is off to a fantastic start!

Our Co-curricular activities have kicked off with a flurry of events, including Interschool sporting competitions and our annual House Chess Tournament. Our dedicated staff and volunteers have been busy planning a wide range of activities to enrich our students’ learning, boost School spirit, and strengthen community engagement.

House Athletics Carnival

The House Athletics Carnival for students in Years 3 to 6 took place in beautiful sunshine at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve on Tuesday 7 May. It was a great success, with students proudly wearing their House colours and leading House spirit chants created by their Year 6 leaders.

It was an impressive showcase of athleticism and determination. I am incredibly proud of all the competitors. A special mention goes to those who gave their best effort, even if athletics isn’t their favourite activity.

Here are some of the key results for the day:

  • Junior Flyer (fastest Years 3 and 4 student) Winner: Jemima Grinsell
  • Blue Ribbon (fastest Years 5 and 6 student) Winner: Imogen Brownjohn
  • House Athletics Champion: Beaulieu Blair (winning for the third year in a row)

I also want to thank the parents who attended the event to support their daughters. Your encouragement is greatly appreciated by the students and the wider School community. Many thanks to our Barbreck Coordinator of Sport, Miss Liv Cody, and the Junior School staff for making the day a resounding success. A more detailed report of the event is provided here.

Mother’s Day Stall

Today, our PFA held their annual Mother’s Day Stall. It was a fantastic event, with a beautiful array of gifts for our students to purchase for their mothers, grandmothers, and other special people in their lives. Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success. I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Upcoming Events

Next Friday 17 May, students in Prep to Year 3 will welcome their grandparents and other special visitors into our School. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their classroom experiences and showcase their work with someone special. We will begin the day with tea and coffee in the Wintergarden at 8:20 am. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Next week, we will be hosting Music Recitals on Wednesday 15 May, and Thursday 16 May. Please keep an eye on the St Catherine’s news portal for more details about these events. This is a great opportunity for our Music students to perform and demonstrate the skills they’ve developed through hours of rehearsals and dedication. I invite parents, friends, and other students to attend and support our talented performers.
