Meet our Holmes Kilbride Captains
Get to know our 2024 Holmes Kilbride House Co-Captains, Aimee Davenport and Willow Douglas.
How did you feel when you were elected as a Captain?
Willow: I felt extremely happy and proud to get the position. It was a surprise because there were so many great people in Holmes Kilbride. I was excited to be working with Aimee and all the girls in Holmes Kilbride.
Aimee: When I was elected as House Co-Captain of Holmes Kilbride, I was proud that I got the chance to lead HK with passion for the year ahead.
Why did you choose to nominate for a student leadership position?
Willow: Being a House Captain is a great way to get to know all the girls in Holmes Kilbride. I also thought it would be good way to grow in confidence and leadership. I love sport and have always enjoyed playing a variety of different games. I also like working with younger students and helping them, so being a House Captain seemed like the perfect job for me.
Aimee: I chose to nominate for a student leadership position because I wanted to encourage and emphasise the very important School Values to everyone not only in sport but at school every day.
Can you share some of the things you want to achieve in this captaincy role?
Willow: I would like to win the House Trophy at the end of the year, but I know how tricky that will be. I hope that if I encourage and inspire my teammates, we can get there. I want all the girls in Holmes Kilbride to feel connected and a part of the team. I want all the Holmes girls to feel good about themselves.
Aimee: This year I want to achieve many things including helping students find their talents, tell them to try their best no matter what and of course lead Holmes to Victory!
What does being a St Catherine’s girl mean to you?
Willow: It’s really special to be a St Catherine’s girl. There are so many opportunities and exciting things to do. It is wonderful to have so many friends and teachers to support you. Being a St Catherine’s girl means you are kind and respectful, and resilient and up for a challenge!
Aimee: Being a St Catherine’s girl means that I’ve got a second home because St Catherine’s is a place where I feel safe, welcomed, and included in every way. Being a St Catherine’s girl also means that I’m ensured an immaculate education that will guide my classmates and I to success.
