The intensity of training during the Rowing Season creates deep bonds of friendship as well as the best of team cooperation on a particular task. Our First Eight are magnificent. Their skill, attitude and sportsmanship have shown at every turn and they have been great role models for the rowers coming behind them. I know as the girls before them have done, the 2009 Year 12s will return as coaches and in other roles, maintaining their strong links with the School. Now, the Year 12s will continue their interest and pursuit of other co-curricular acitivities and of course, their studies.
Sitting in my office early this morning, I notice that from as early as 6.45am, students happily arrive to practise various sports on the School's grounds and music in Sherren House. By 7.00am, the School is alive and buzzing with music and sport and the girls are warming themselves up for a busy day at School.
