Fortitude and Diligence Lead to Outstanding Results at St Catherine’s
St Catherine’s School, Toorak continues its long tradition of academic success with outstanding results from students across a broad range of subjects.
Principal, Mrs Michelle Carroll, praised her students, “Our Class of 2017 will be remembered for their enthusiasm and eagerness to achieve their best in all aspects of life at St Catherine’s. Through their sustained commitment and determination, our Year 12 cohort have achieved remarkable academic results across a broad range of subjects”.
Almost half the cohort (44%) achieved an ATAR score of 90 and above, placing these girls in the top 10% of the State and over two thirds of the cohort (67%), achieved an ATAR score of above 80, placing these girls in the top 20% of the State. Nineteen students achieved scores of 95 and above, with these extraordinary results placing the girls in the top 5% of the State.
“This success is testament to the fortitude, diligence, perseverance and hard work shown by each student. As a School we are extremely proud of their achievements,” Mrs Carroll said.
We also congratulate our 2017 St Catherine’s School Dux Zeyi (Zoe) Yu who achieved an ATAR score of 99.65.
“These results could not have been achieved without the dedication, passion and expertise of our teaching staff, particularly our VCE teachers. I thank them for their commitment and hard work in preparing and supporting the girls throughout this important year. Thank you also to our Year 12 parents for assisting their daughters to achieve their individual best. Together, we see in the 2017 Year 12 girls, great hope and optimism for their future. They are confident, creative and outward-looking young women who will go on to build substantial lives for themselves.
“On behalf of all St Catherine’s staff, I wish our Year 12 girls many blessings for their future careers. It has been an honour to teach them at St Catherine’s and we look forward to their return as St Catherine’s Old Girls,” Mrs Carroll said.
