Ms Vasiliki Spanos
BA (Hons) DipEd PGDipES MEd Melb
With many years’ experience teaching English and Literature, Ms Vasiliki Spanos feels privileged to be in a profession that celebrates the development of every student. Her strong belief that teachers impact the next generations guides her pedagogical approach. “I feel that through the teaching of English and Literature we gain an insight into the views, attitudes and insights of how young people see the world and see themselves as part of this world. Words form the seed of our communication.” This approach allows Vasiliki to foster an inclusive pastoral care program that provides the students an understanding about the power of words and encourages them to have the courage in using words with respect and relevance.
With a primary focus on girls’ education Vasiliki has taught at a number of schools, both locally and internationally including the Campion British School in Athens, Greece. She has also tutored Literature at Monash University and been a Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Assessor of English and Literature.
With a fundamental passion for wellbeing and literature, Vasiliki is planning for her PhD study in this field and aspires to develop a wellbeing approach that models how both adolescents and adults can live satisfying and peaceful lives in a world that is, at times, so demanding and clouded by confusing messages.
