Pathways to success

St Catherine's provides students with a sequential careers program which educates students about the breadth of career opportunities, helps them to identify their own skills and interest areas and also develops knowledge about organisational skills, resumé writing and interview techniques.

Our well-resourced Careers Centre is managed by our highly-qualified Careers Advisor who keeps our community informed about the latest developments in career and further study options.

We are fortunate that we have a network of past students and current parents who willingly come in to School to give careers talks, act as mentors to current students or arrange for tours and practical placements at their workplaces.

A highlight of the Careers program is the Careers Morning where past students are invited back to give real life insights into the field in which they currently work.  A wide range of career paths is showcased and students from Years 9 to 12 find the morning invaluable as they can ask pertinent questions about university life, career pathways and juggling work and home life.

Year 11 students also participate in the Mentor Program. The Program provides an opportunity for students to ask questions and observe successful professionals by visiting three different work environments. Workplaces visits have included Delloite, Glenvill Homes, CSIRO, Witchery, the Prince Hotel and the National Gallery of Victoria to name a few.

St Catherine’s students have the opportunity to tailor a VCE program to suit their learning needs and styles. Girls can partake in VET studies, University Extension/ Enhancement studies, School Based Traineeships.
