Campbell House Twilight Encounters

A sense of community and collaboration was evident as the children shared their learning through our ‘Campbell House Twilight Encounters’ last week.

The children excitedly welcomed their parents into their classrooms to conduct learning meetings and share their current projects and inquiries. Using their learning journals, the children shared various aspects of their current learning and took their parents on a tour of the classroom. This was a wonderful experience for parents to hear the children articulate their own learning and demonstrate their growth and development over the course of the year.

Following this, parents and children moved to the Piazza to engage in a collaborative project together. In the lead up to this special event, the children had been working together to create two sculptures of Bunjil the eagle – one made of clay and the other of wire. Parents and children were invited to create paper feathers to add to Bunjil’s wings on the wire sculpture. On these beautifully created feathers, the parents wrote messages, outlining their hopes and dreams for their child’s future. These two installations will take pride of place in the Early Learning Centre (ELC) as a lasting memory of our 2019 children and families.
