A Focus on Travel and Countries in the Blue Gum Room

The Blue Gum children returned from their holiday break ready to embrace new learning experiences and reconnect with their peers and teachers. The term has begun with the children reflecting on their holiday adventures during our morning meeting discussions. Each child was given the opportunity to stand in front of their peers and share something memorable or important that happened over the school holidays.

Question time was the highlight of these discussions, as their peers were able to interact by asking questions. The children demonstrated the growth in their level of listening and attentiveness in asking thoughtful and relevant questions. Travelling to other countries around the world was an exciting part of these discussions, which provided a wonderful opportunity to locate these countries on our world map. The children are currently painting flags of these destinations and other countries they have travelled to with their families.
