Success in a Different Time for Year 10 Student

Year 10 student, Flynn O’Brien has recently published her second novel Different Time, a Sci-Fi Fantasy that follows the lives of a group of teenagers as they travel back in time to unravel the mystery surrounding the inception of an infectious disease.

Flynn commenced writing this novel in Year 9 when she first arrived at St Catherine’s, with many of the chapters being written in the village community of Kenani, Fiji during the Year 9 Heyington to Highlands program.

Different Time is the sequel to Flynn’s first novel, New Beginnings which she started writing when she was only 11 years old. “I had no idea that it would actually become a book, let alone two! I cannot believe I finally get to share the final chapter with everyone,” Flynn says.

“The English Department at School has always been so incredibly supportive and Ms Spanos has never failed to make me smile with her enthusiasm. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next and how my writing develops and improves over the next few years.”

Congratulations to Flynn, we look forward to continuing to follow her literary journey into the future.
