Annual Giving: A record performance

As many parents, staff and alumni left behind a chilly Melbourne for warmer climates, or even chillier alpine climes, a new record was being quietly but assuredly created.

A record unbroken for decades. Not skiing, debating, rowing or music. So what then? Philanthropy – Annual Giving in particular. Our amazing and undeniably generous community smashed the record by donating just under $200,000  – a result which in some ways defies the size of our School, or even our extended alumni network.

More than double than last year – our parents, alumni and staff personally demonstrated a united vision for a new leading practice Junior School. A Junior School soon to be transformed by outstanding new facilities in music, science, literacy and language reinforced by a strong educational program.

But it was not just the Junior School. Our community showed the true spirit of philanthropy by donating to scholarships for our Indigenous and rural/regional students – providing the opportunity for girls from across Australia with opportunities which our parents and alumni know can be life-changing.

We are very grateful for your support and grateful that you have again demonstrated your belief in our girls and the power of education and in particular, a St Catherine’s education.

With the support of Annual Giving, we are now much closer to our campaign target of $3 million for our new Junior School. Thank you.

If you have not already, it is not too late to help us break through our target together.
