Our small class sizes support your child to reach their potential through innovative education programs, global vision, exceptional educators and personalised student care.
Your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you can make about their future. Our bold dream is to empower our students with the best start as they commence their educational journey.
Our small class sizes support your child to reach their potential through innovative education programs, global vision, exceptional educators and personalised student care. Our size, along with our one campus advantage ensures all our students – from our youngest in the Early Learning Centre to our VCE students – learn in one central and supportive community.
St Catherine’s School builds on its rich history as an exceptional girls’ school by providing an outstanding and dynamic academic program that is personalised, progressive and contemporary; one that guides, challenges and inspires students to achieve. Our commitment is to an education which, at its core, develops rigorous thinking and the practice of inquiry. At St Catherine’s, our academic approach to learning aims to empower students and prepare them to deal with complexity, diversity and change. St Catherine’s teaches students to think, both creatively and critically.
The Girls School Advantage
Our learning environment in the Junior and Senior School is tailored to the needs and interests of girls, and surrounded by other girls, they show fewer inhibitions and take more positive risks.
In an all-girls School girls take on leadership roles and are surrounded by strong female role models. Young women graduate from a girls’ school not only ready to take their place in the world as a person of equal intellectual stature, but also knowing they are capable of leading.
Our Global Exchange Program ensures a commitment to the empowerment of independent and globally responsive young women. Our programs are designed to offer an extensive range of in-country experiences from opportunities to study in regional or city schools in different countries, a variation in the length of time participating in the Exchange and a focused appeal to specific areas of academic and co-curricular interests of our students.
The co-curricular programs at St Catherine’s School provide opportunities for students to personalise their learning journey through self-selecting opportunities within our exciting co-curricular program. Engaging in such experiences aim to enhance the development of the whole child by complementing skills learned in the classroom and nurturing lifelong learners.
Small Class Sizes
With average class sizes of 17 students enables every student to receive engaging learning experiences and personalised learning plans tailored to their own unique learning style. We recognise that individualised attention and diverse subject choices encourage collaborative and individual learning. Our teachers know their students and know them well.
Our partnership with the Emotional Intelligence Resource Unit at Swinburne University enhances the wellbeing program through the delivery of evidence-based emotional intelligence lessons. Commencing with the ELC Foundation programs and culminating in the Year 12 Leadership Skills, each year level completes age appropriate activities committed to the development of leadership skills, resilience, spirituality and social responsibility.
