Application For Enrolment
Your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you can make about their future. To assist in the navigation of this process below is a typical step-by-step process. Please note this is a general process and unless your child is enrolling at St Catherine’s to commence at the start of the year these steps may vary.
We invite you to visit the campus, meet our students, Principal and staff at one of our Open Mornings. We also welcome Scholarship applications from students not yet attending St Catherine’s as well as current students.
Step 1. Request a Prospectus
The Prospectus provides an insight into our School and includes:
- A hard copy of the Application for Enrolment
- Private School bus information for Williamstown and Brighton suburb areas
- ELC/Junior or Senior School information
- Summary of Business Practices
- Statement of Fees
A great way to learn more about our School is to attend an Open Morning or personal tour. Our Open Mornings are run throughout the year and offer a tour of our School campus led by students (ELC is guided by staff), meet the Principal and other relevant staff members.
Alternatively, we also offer personal tours at times convenient for you. Book a personal tour online, contact our Registrar who can answer your questions or take a virtual tour including our Boarding House, School facilities and ELC.
We encourage you to submit an Application for Enrolment as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Applications are accepted for all Year levels, however, please be aware that our key intake years are currently 4 Year old ELC, Prep, Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9. Applications for entry should be submitted at least two years prior to your entry year.
All applications require:
- Application for Enrolment Form
- Application Fee (non-refundable)
- Birth certificate
- Passport (International applications only)
- Visa or Visa type you intend to apply for (International applications only)
As we are a non-selective School, students are placed on our waiting list according to the date on which we receive your Application for Enrolment Form. Once the application is received you will receive a receipt of application and your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list for the Year Level nominated.
Step 4. Formal Interview
Once your child’s application is considered, you will be contacted by the School to arrange an interview with either our School Principal or Head of ELC and Junior School. Prior to the interview taking place, any current school reports will need to be submitted. Following the interview, students undertake basic literacy and numeracy assessments to determine their educational needs.
Boarding families based interstate or overseas will be required to have an enrolment interview via video conferencing with the Head of Boarding.
Step 5. Offer of Enrolment
A formal Offer of place into the School may be made following the enrolment interview. A signed Enrolment Contract and the Entrance Fee (non-refundable) is required immediately to accept a place. Once payment has been received, formal confirmation of the place is provided. On enrolment, parents/guardians acknowledge that they have read and understood all school policies, rules and procedures.
Step 6. Orientation and transition
Students beginning in 3YO, Prep, Year 7 or Boarding participate in a formal orientation program where they meet fellow students and teachers for the year ahead.
All other Junior School students and their families are invited to attend an Information Session prior to the year commencing.
Upper Year levels of Senior School students will also be consulted early and meet with our Careers Advisor to select subjects.
Step 7. Welcome to St Catherine’s
Prior to commencement, you will receive an information pack which includes information about:
- Uniform Shop
- First-day program
- Access to our Parent Portal mystcatherines
- Access to CareMonkey our online health, safety and electronic consent form system
