Non-Resident Applications

To make an application for an enrolment at St Catherine’s School, you will need to complete an enrolment application form. Students are required to obtain a student visa from the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIAC), the Australian Government Department responsible for regulating and administering the student visa program.
International students are required to complete and submit their results from an AEAS English Proficiency test as part of the School’s application review process. For the benefit of the student, a certain standard of English is required which allows the student to interact effectively with the educational and pastoral care programs and activities of the School. More information regarding rights and responsibilities as a non-resident student under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act (2000) can be found in the ESOS Framework.
Accommodation arrangements while studying in Australia
Non-resident students, while studying in Australia, require accommodation which provides a supporting environment for each student’s learning needs and interests. Students in Years 7 – 10 are required to live in the St Catherine’s School Boarding House or reside with their parents. More information on our Boarding House can be found on our website.
Students in Years 11 & 12 can opt to stay in a Homestay. Homestay arrangements are subject to the School reviewing the suitability of a Homestay.
All non-resident students not living with their parents are required to have a Guardian.
Course Offered
St Catherine’s School is a registered provider of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) which is completed during the last two years of School. More information about our courses including subjects offered in Years 7 to 10, can be found on our website.
Supporting Our Non-Resident Students
St Catherine’s School places great emphasis on pastoral care and student wellbeing as key ingredients in the progress of students at School. The Student Services Team at St Catherine’s School comprises a range of specialist staff that oversee the pastoral care of our students. In addition, St Catherine’s School has an International Student Coordinator who works directly with non-resident students to provide academic and pastoral care guidance and support. St Catherine’s School will coordinate Health Insurance cover for non-resident students.
Fees and Expenses
All students are required to pay a range of expenses as students at St Catherine’s School.
These include:
- Tuition fees;
- Boarding Fees (if student is a Boarder at the School);
- Homestay Fees (if student requires Homestay arrangements);
- Notebook Rental; and
- Health Insurance.

In addition, there are other expenses associated with studying at St Catherine’s School includes the cost of our School Uniform, stationery and textbooks.
