Sally Macindoe (’84) is past Chairman and a partner of Norton Rose Fulbright Australia and holds an Executive position on the Management Committee as Head of Diversity and Inclusion, as well as the role of Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion. Sally also leads the Planning and Environment Practice at the firm with a particular focus on major project development work. Sally was appointed as a Director of the Melbourne Recital Centre Limited 2005–2009 and is a serving member of the Melbourne Cricket Club Committee.

Since being School Captain in 1984, Sally has continued to hold leadership positions throughout her career and believes much of her success has been due to loving what she does, seeking and embracing feedback and seizing opportunities when they present themselves. She has also undertaken education that assists leadership, including the Australian Graduate School of Management’s driving performance in professional services firms in 2006, and more recently inclusive leadership training.
Her list of achievements include: 2011 Diversity Leader for the Advancement of Women – EOWA Business Achievement Awards; 2012 Female Partner of the Year – Lawyer’s Weekly Women in the Law Awards; 2013 Winner – National Australia Bank’s Change Champion Award and she was also named as one of Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence in 2013.
For over 10 years Sally has led Norton Rose Fulbright’s gender diversity activities, aiming to achieve equal opportunity for the advancement of women. As a result, the firm in Australia was certified as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality each year since 2011 by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency and its predecessor.
Sally studied Japanese at University (having been a Rotary Exchange Student in 1981) and is conversant in the language. She enjoys living in Melbourne and has two sons.
