SWAP Wrap ’22

On Sunday 22 May a bumper crowd once again turned out for the annual St Catherine’s Snowsports Swap.

Excited shoppers filed into the School Hall at 10.00am to an extensive selection of new and used skis, boots, snowboards, clothing and more. The greatly appreciated contributions of new and used gear from suppliers, St Catherine’s families and the general public were significant and the array on offer did not disappoint.

It was a hugely successful event with $60,000 worth of equipment and clothing being sold in just two hours.

Unsold winter clothing has been donated to Off Your Back, an initiative started by Old Girl, Toni Joel (Silver ’82), and Toorak Primary.

The addition of the BBQ and cake stalls kept the willing shoppers fuelled and were complemented this year by a coffee cart. A big thank you to the 2022 Snowsports Captains Pippa (Pippi) Shergold and Arabella (Bella) Hall for their help on the stalls.

The Snowsports Auxiliary was thrilled with the result and extremely grateful for the assistance provided by members of the St Catherine’s community, both past and present.

The event involves significant preparation and planning and would not be possible without the leadership of St Catherine’s parents Tamsin Greig and Monique Rosshandler and the enormous effort of all those involved.

A special thank you to St Catherine’s staff for their invaluable assistance and support: Ms Meredith Taylor (’79), Miss Olivia Cody (’14), Mr Tom Crebbin, Mrs Sonam Agarwal, Ms Jennifer Wu and the IT and Maintenance Teams. Thank you also to our suppliers EMC, Rush, and joining us this year, Moloney’s.

All proceeds from the event will be used to support the Snowsports program at St Catherine’s.
