Raising Hope for the Good Friday Appeal
What inspired you to participate in the Good Friday Appeal?
Ellie: I had a stroke in 2022, which motivated me to give back to the Royal Children’s Hospital and support other children facing medical challenges.
Coco: After becoming close friends with Ellie and hearing her story, I was inspired to join her. We saw signs for the appeal everywhere and decided to take action together.
How successful were your fundraising efforts?
Coco: We were incredibly proud to raise between $4,500 and $5,000. We even made it onto the news, which was an amazing experience.
What are your goals for this year’s fundraising?
Ellie: We are aiming to raise $7,000, more than last year!
Why do you think events like the Good Friday Appeal are important?
Coco: It’s about showing that there are kind and generous people in the world. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a real difference in children’s lives.
Ellie: Every donation counts and can potentially change someone’s life, whether it’s supporting cancer treatment or other medical needs.
What’s your biggest hope for the future of the Good Friday Appeal?
Coco: I hope that by seeing two Year 9 students raising money, more people will be inspired to donate and support the cause. The goal is to create a ripple effect of generosity and hope.
