Outstanding Educator: Ms Sue Macgeorge

Congratulations to St Catherine’s School’s VCE Biology teacher, Ms Sue Macgeorge who has become the ninth recipient of the St Catherine’s Teaching in Excellence Award.

This Award is peer nominated and recognises:

  • Consistent and dedicated service to teaching;
  • Excellent student outcomes; and
  • A willingness to share successful teaching and learning strategies

Sue has been a pillar of support to her students and colleagues, developing excellent and trusting relationships over many, many years. At School reunions today, Old Girls regale stories to me of the impact of her teaching, with some of them pursuing careers that unfolded from Sue’s passion for her subject. Sue is renowned for the VCE exam readiness of all her classes, providing students with several past papers to complete, marking every question and ensuring detailed feedback is provided in a rapid turnaround time.

Sue is also a stalwart of the VCAA Marking Team. This year, she was invited to be the Victorian Assistant Chief Examiner.

Congratulations Sue and thank you for your remarkable work for all our students.
