House Snowsports 2022

What a fantastic weekend to start off the 2022 Snowsports Season!

In an exciting weekend Langley Templeton have taken out the 2022 St Catherine’s House Snowsports.

Given the years away from the mountains, we had some outstanding performances across the weekend, most notably in Mr Crebbin’s favourite event, Cross Country Skiing. Despite the fog and at times rain, all St Catherine’s students gave it their all.

Some highlights from the weekend included:

Sarah Marriott (12DS) recorded the fastest time of the day, in both the Classic and Skate in Cross Country.
Annika Gill (6LT) and Sienna Bamford (10LT) respectively recorded the fastest times in the Junior and Senior Alpine.
Year 7 Holmes Kilbride student Kayleigh Yap scored the highest grade in the Moguls to see her House secure valuable points.

However, it was in the Snowboard where Langley Templeton proved to be too strong as Annika Gill (6LT), Wenxuan (Elsa) Zhou (7LT) and Indi Cunningham (10LT) took out wins in their respective Divisions and secured the win for Langley Templeton.

The weekend was a remarkable success, and I would like to thank our St Catherine’s community for getting behind the event and making it an enjoyable and important part of our School calendar.

Thank you to our fearless Snowsports Captains Arabella (Bella) Hall (12LT) and Pippa (Pippi) Shergold (12LT) in the Senior School and Annika Gill (6LT) & Camilla Aberdeen (6LT) in Barbreck. We look forward to their continued leadership in the Interschools.

In addition, the biggest thanks of all goes to our passionate Snowsports Auxiliary. Without their hard work and support, an event such as this would not be possible.

We now turn our attention to the Interschools and continued enjoyment and success of the St Catherine’s Snowsports program.
