Nurturing students for 120 years

FOR more than a century, St Catherine’s School has fostered the growth of students with the aim of nurturing and empowering them as women of the future.

This month the school celebrated its 120th Foundation Day and to mark the milestone students, staff and other members of the school community planted a garden featuring more than 500 ceramic flowers.

School head of arts Brigid Weereratne said collaboration was an important part of the project, and Year 12 art and design captains, including Coco Burrell, oversaw its installation.

St Catherine’s School was founded on February 4, 1896, by principal Jeanie Hood. Originally located in Castlemaine and called Castlemaine Ladies’ College, the school’s name was changed and moved to Windsor, before settling in Toorak.
