Starting Prep is a time for young children to wonder, explore, discover and make meaning of the world. At St Catherine’s School, our Prep learners are offered rich learning experiences through an educational program with the depth of opportunities for your daughter to build upon her physical, social, emotional, personal, creative, cognitive and linguistic skills. Our Barbreck girls are supported by dedicated class teachers guiding a curriculum centered on Literacy, Numeracy, STEM, Humanities, Physical Education, Language, Visual and Performing Arts, Library and Learning Extension.
We know children require the time, space and opportunities to develop a range of skills, learnings, understandings and behaviour in their early years and our optimum class sizes ensure a strong foundation for the first year of school and successful lifelong learning. The high-quality and rich learning experiences offered at St Catherine’s School highlight our commitment to holistically support young children’s learning, development and wellbeing, upon which to build for future learning.
Limited places are still available for Prep 2024.
St Catherine’s School builds on its rich history as an exceptional girls’ school by providing an outstanding and dynamic academic program that is personalised, progressive and contemporary; one that guides, challenges and inspires students to achieve. We celebrate the remarkable academic achievements with St Catherine’s School now ranked as the #1 girls’ school in Victoria in 2021 and 2022.
Small Class Sizes
Average class sizes of 17 students enable every student to receive engaging learning experiences and personalised learning plans tailored to their own unique learning style. We recognise that individualised attention and diverse subject choices encourage collaborative and individual learning. Our teachers know their students and know them well.
Our partnership with the Emotional Intelligence Resource Unit at Swinburne University enhances the wellbeing program through the delivery of evidence-based emotional intelligence lessons. Commencing with the ELC Foundation programs and culminating in the Year 12 Leadership Skills, each year level completes age-appropriate activities committed to the development of leadership skills, resilience, spirituality and social responsibility.
The Girls School Advantage
Our learning environment is tailored to the needs and interests of girls, and surrounded by other girls, they show fewer inhibitions and take more positive risks.
In an all-girls School girls take on leadership roles and are surrounded by strong female role models. Young women graduate from a girls’ school not only ready to take their place in the world as a person of equal intellectual stature, but also knowing they are capable of leading.
The co-curricular programs at St Catherine’s School provide opportunities for students to personalise their learning journey through self-selecting opportunities within our exciting co-curricular program. Engaging in such experiences aim to enhance the development of the whole child by complementing skills learned in the classroom and nurturing lifelong learners.
Your daughter’s education is one of the most important decisions you can make about her future. Please visit Admissions who are available to assist you in navigating this process, contact us to arrange a personal tour or register for Open Morning.
