A Monster Calls is a captivating and emotional theatrical experience that explores themes of grief, fear, and healing through a blend of magical realism and physical theatre. With stunning visuals, dynamic movement, and an unforgettable narrative, this production brings to life the journey of Conor O’Malley and the courage required to navigate loss and truth. As he grapples with his mother’s illness, a mysterious monster visits him, challenging his understanding of stories, reality, and the power of letting go.

Based on the novel by Patrick Ness and inspired by an original idea by Siobhan Dowd, devised by Sally Cookson, Adam Peck and the Company of the Old Vic in London.

The production of A Monster Calls explores themes of grief, loss, terminal illness, and death of a family member. The performance includes scenes of bullying, strong emotions, and mild coarse language, and is therefore recommended for audiences 12 years and over.
