Ruth Langley Luncheon
Initiated in 1999 by the Parents’ and Friends’ Association, the annual Ruth Langley Luncheon celebrates the leading role played by Miss Ruth Langley, both in the history of St Catherine’s School and in women’s education in Victoria.
As Principal of the School from 1903 until just prior to her death in 1933, Ruth established an enduring philosophy of ‘education for life’. Ruth believed passionately in the importance of an education that embraces the whole individual and extends every student intellectually, culturally, socially and physically.
The annual Ruth Langley Luncheon is one such celebratory event, enabling women to connect with the School, share poignant memories with friends, and celebrate the strength of our engaged, dynamic and inclusive community.

2021 Guest Speaker- Peta Credilin AO
Peta is a political analyst who hosts her successful prime time programme Credlin on Sky News each weeknight, a national columnist with News Corp and a radio regular on 2GB, 4BC and 3AW each week. A trained lawyer, Peta is also involved with the University of Melbourne’s School of Government as an Honorary Professorial Fellow and recently appointed to the board of the new Robert Menzies Institute, an initiative between the University and the Liberal Party’s Menzies Research Centre. For 16 years, Peta was a senior adviser to a number of Howard Government ministers and later Chief of Staff to the Hon Tony Abbott AC in opposition, and his time as Prime Minister of Australia.
