Deputy Head of Junior School

When Luke Russell was a Year 6 student, he wanted to be an AFL footballer. Luckily for St Catherine’s, apparently Luke wasn’t the fastest runner, nor the straightest kicker – and fortunately for us, we now have him as our Deputy Head of Junior School, and Year 6 teacher!

Outside of life at St Catherine’s, Luke has two little boys with his partner Caz at home – William is 2, and Thomas is just 4 months old 😊 As well as being an avid Magpies supporter (‘my beloved Magpies’ is how the AFL team was referred to), Luke is a keen skier, and is looking forward to teaching his boys to ski when they are big enough to do so!

When asked what he loved most about working at St Catherine’s, Luke said the “opportunities to teach great kids, work with lovely people, and getting to know the parents and other members in the School community” – a beautiful sentiment shared across the staff at St Catherine’s.
