Our Word Managers

In today's blog our Head of ELC and Junior School, Mrs Alana Moor, writes about our Write on Wednesday group.
The ‘Write on Wednesday' group of Years 5 and 6 students, has already decided that writers are word managers and the more words you know, the better writer you will become. Extension activities using various forms of words need to be challenging for this very eager group.
The popular afterschool activity gives the girls an opportunity to share the excitement of adding to their vocabulary, manipulating sentences to make them either serious or hilarious, locating errors in sentences in clear thinking challenges and a myriad of other word and sentence puzzles. Laughter can always be heard from the classroom on Wednesdays afterschool!
Games using words, enthral the students as they begin to discover that, "There are so many words in the Dictionary to learn!"
