Musical Inspiration

Rebecca Chan, a past student of St Catherine's was our guest at the 2008 Year 12 Awards Night. Rebecca is a renowned violinist who is a core player of Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and a member of the Hamer Quartet. Not only did Rebecca speak to us as well as play an inspiring modern piece - but she brought the rest of the Hamer Quartet with her and we were enthralled. Both Rebecca's individual playing and that of the quartet was a high point for me in decades of musical appreciation. With the Senior School Gala Concert to be held on Thursday 30 July, it is wonderful that our current students can look to our Old Girls for musical inspiration.
