International Studies Class Wins Essay Competition!
Friday 8 May 2009
I congratulate the talented girls of the Year 12 International Studies class, who have achieved the overall school prize for the Monash University's Castan Centre for Human Rights Law Writing For Human Rights Essay Competition. The students were asked to construct an essay response to the statement 'We're not morons; governments should butt out of young people's lives'. In addition to this wonderful result, student Philippa Symon has been awarded a special commendation and Susannah Guthrie will receive one of the top prizes during the awards ceremony on Wednesday 13 May. Well done girls on this fantastic academic result and a special mention to their teacher and Faculty Leader - Humanities, Mr Bryan Wood.
