Old Girls’ Morning Tea and 1999 Year Reunion

Dee Gowan, Tess Stephen and Philipa Bergman-Hill enjoy the Old Girls' morning tea

It has certainly been a busy week for our Old Girls' Association! Yesterday I joined a group of Old Girls who were meeting in the Sherren House Drawing Room for morning tea, after hearing Catherine Freeman speak at our Senior School Assembly. I was delighted to speak with a former boarder, who was visiting St Catherine's for the first time in thirty years, having resided in her home country of Malaysia since her schooling here.

On Friday night, despite a cold and wintry evening, the 1999 year group appeared to have a happy and in many ways joyous reunion in the Sherren House Drawing Room. It was certainly one of the friendliest events that I have attended. I did not know many of the girls but to see them greet each other and their teachers as mature young women who had clearly enjoyed all aspects of their School life, is something that I will treasure. I would also like to thank the members of the Old Girls' Association who regularly attend the reunions with Gilly Nethercote and ensure that they are welcoming events.
