Our Busy School
Monday 28 February 2011
It was a privilege to visit the Years 8 and 9 Beyond Boundaries camping groups as they began their first outdoor education event for 2011. I also had an opportunity to visit the main offices and location for the Outdoor Education Group (OEG) Group. This is centred in the town of Eildon and is extremely impressive in terms of the quality of equipment and the management practices that are in place.
I was also very pleased to speak with many of the OEG leaders at both campsites. St Catherine’s School is fortunate to have a substantial link with this group and it is certainly of enormous benefit to all our students.
My sincere thanks to our parents who were responsible for the Junior School Twilight Picnic on Friday 25 February in the late afternoon and early evening. On the following day, Saturday 26 February we arrived for the School event early in the morning, the grounds had been left in an excellent condition. My thanks to all involved.
Our girls are enjoying a full sports program based around our own facilities. Our new Sports Field is very well used and there is a great deal of enjoyment as a result of these developments.
I would like to commend the enormous effort of the girls involved in rowing to all our community. They have worked extremely hard with their Director and coaches and we can be justly proud of everything they are doing. It is extremely pleasing to see such an important program developing along its current lines.
