There is no doubt about the busyness of this week!
Monday 30 August 2010
Congratulations to our athletes who are performing in the élite GSV competition as individuals or in relays. All the girls in the Athletics Team this year have performed extremely well both at training and during competition. Without this level of participation and enthusiasm, our students would have little opportunity to understand the value of athletics as it fits with fitness and our general wellbeing.
It is always significant for a school to celebrate the spiritual dimensions of life. As an open entry entity, we were delighted to welcome girls, families and friends to our Annual Church Service last Sunday. We thank the Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne for his presence and all those girls and staff who prepared and took part in our Service. There is no doubt that it is worthwhile taking an hour or so for a quiet reflection on our lives and our values.
House Debating was an extremely interesting time with many of our students displaying excellent skills that will serve them and their futures well. I thank Mrs O’Connor, assisting staff, Debating Captains, Hilary Grover and Sarah Lang. Congratulations to the winning houses and best speakers.
A highlight of this week will be the Years 7 & 8 Play, The Witches. I hope that you are able to come and support our girls as well as have an enjoyable evening.
Amongst the other activities this week will see our International Food Fair and the Science Olympiad in Chemistry. We will hear about more of these events in upcoming newsletters.
