Meet our International Captains
Leena Lee and Min Sun Choi, International Captains for 2009
Both Leena (pictured left) and Min Sun (pictured right) grew up in South Korea. Before commencing at St Catherine's, Leena attended John Paul College in Brisbane and Min Sun was a boarder at Stanborough International School in Hertfordshire, England.
What are your favourite areas of study at St Catherine's?
Leena: Science is something I enjoy.
Min Sun: Last year I took electives in Human Development, Psychology and Accounting which I found interesting and this year I have become more interested in sciences, taking Biology and Chemistry.
What do you aspire to after Year 12?
Leena: I am hoping to go to University here in Melbourne.
Min Sun: I want to study Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne
In 2009, what are you hoping to achieve as International Captains?
Leena: I hope we can organise more events for the international students at St Catherine's to make them feel like they are in a welcoming community and to support them.
Min Sun: I would like to make the International Club the strongest of all the School clubs. We also want to organise an international movie night.
How did you find settling in to St Catherine's when you started in the Senior School?
Leena: I am in homestay and I have a really friendly family who offer me lots of support. The other International students were also really welcoming when I started.
Min Sun: The International Student Coordinator helped me by giving me advice and looking after me.
What kinds of things do you enjoy doing outside of School?
Leena: I like going to the movies - I am interested in all kinds of films. I also love going to festivals like Moomba.
Min Sun: I play the viola and I am in the orchestra and strings ensemble.
