Senior Music Students Shine at Jazz Night
Our Senior Music students presented a mesmerising performance at the annual St Catherine’s Jazz Night on Thursday 30 May. Fyrefly, St Kilda provided an intimate yet professional atmosphere for 50 of our Senior students to showcase their musicianship to an audience of family, friends and teachers.
Our Head of Music garnered the support of three guest artists to perform with the students throughout the show. Marty Holoubek (double bass), James McLean (drums), and one of Australia’s most accomplished jazz pianists and composers, Joseph O’Connor, provided a highly professional level of musicianship to the evening. Joseph O’Connor worked alongside our students for four weeks to assist with their music composition, arrangements and rehearsals.
