Literary Award for Old Girl

The literary talent of one of St Catherine’s alumnae has been recognised this week at the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards.

Congratulations to St Catherine’s Old Girl Dr Lisa Gorton (’89) on receiving the People’s Choice Award in the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards for her novel The Life of Houses.

Lisa is also a recipient of St Catherine’s Old Girls Association’s Nil Magnum Nisi Bonum that recognises the remarkable achievements of our School alumnae. She is a Rhodes Scholar and a Melbourne writer best known as an outstanding poet, winner of the inaugural Vincent Buckley Poetry Prize and the Philip Hodgins Memorial Medal. The 2008 Victorian Premier’s Award for Poetry was also awarded to Lisa’s book Press Release.
