Tia Mellios has had her artwork shortlisted for the Top Arts exhibition.

We are thrilled to announce that seven of our VCE students have been shortlisted for the VCE Season of Excellence 2010

Tia Mellios (Year 11), Allegra Carroll and Jo Jo Lam (Year 12), who undertook Units 3 & 4 Studio Arts, and Emily Martyn and Holly-Anne Visser (Year 12), who completed Units 3 & 4 Art, will soon find out whether their work will be exhibited at Top Arts. The exhibition will be on display at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia from Thursday 1 April, 2010.

Sarah Lang and Denise Mun (Year 11) have both been shortlisted for Top Designs, following their work in Units 3 & 4 Media. Top Designs will be showcased at the Melbourne Museum from Saturday 27 March, 2010. Sarah has also been shortlisted for Top Screens, which will be presented at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image on Tuesday 2 March, 2010.

The VCE Season of Excellence is an annual showcase of exemplary work completed by VCE students in technology, design, multimedia and the cinematic, visual and performing arts.

Last year, Kara Kim and Samantha Poole (who completed Year 12 at St Catherine's in 2008) were chosen as exhibiting artists for Top Arts. In 2008, a total of six St Catherine's students were shortlisted for the exhibition.

St Catherine's is very proud of its strong tradition of excellence, particularly in the Visual Arts. We congratulate our girls on this wonderful achievement.
