St Catherine’s on the airwaves
St Catherine’s School students have hit the community radio airwaves.
As a part of VCE Business Management, St Catherine’s students are participating in the Student Youth Network (SYN) ‘Schools On Air’ live radio education program, where they create their own broadcasts on community radio 90.7 FM.
Students broadcast their program in an on-air studio each Monday from 12.00pm to 1.00pm, with the support of a SYN trainer. This program includes online resources for students to support radio making, as well as a dedicated web page for the students to upload media and interact with other schools and young media makers.
This program supports students’ learning in the areas of Communication, Marketing and Public Relations, which are all outcomes of the VCE Unit 2 Business Management course.
