The Campaign for St Catherine's
Capital Campaigns are conducted to raise money for specific buildings and projects which have been identified by the School Council as essential for the further enhancement of the educational opportunities at the School.
Following the successful completion of Stage One of the Campaign for
St Catherine’s, the Marigold Southey Sports & Aquatic Centre, the School Council has now determined that the renewal of the Senior School buildings is of the utmost importance as we continue with our vision that the buildings and facilities here at St Catherine’s should match the excellent education available to our girls.
Stage Two: Senior School Renewal
The project covers three buildings in the Senior School, with the surrounding landscaping retaining and adding to our green spaces.
The key features of the project are:
• A new façade and extension to the east side of the Senior School building including ground and first floor. The extension, and reconfiguration of the internal spaces, will provide three new classrooms, social and study spaces and refurbishment of existing classrooms and student common areas.
• The Science building has over recent years had its classrooms refurbished and renovations to the roof spaces and satellite dish. As part of this project, further work will be undertaken, including an atrium over the external spaces, similar to the Clocktower.
• The courtyard, which is central to these buildings will be landscape-designed to include a garden wall with seating around trees and paved and grassed areas.
• The Mary Davis Centre will become a forum sitting alongside the Library and its external pergola, seating and gardens. The Centre will include a café with indoor and outdoor seating.
At a cost of $6.8m, the School will fund 50% of this project. We are seeking to raise the balance of $3.4 million through the School community, both past and present.

Stage One: Marigold Southey Sports & Aquatic Centre
Completed in 2011 the Marigold Southey Sports & Aquatic Centre provides our students with an indoor and outdoor sports arena which includes a 25 metre pool (six lanes sized for squad training), a learners' pool, a one metre diving board, exercise training room, a flexible classroom for health and physical education, spectator seating for 250 and offices for sports and aquatic staff.
Our all-weather sports field enables tennis, netball and basketball, training for soccer, hockey and athletics; just to name a few of the more than 20 sports which our School offers. Landscaping to the surrounding outdoor areas and an underground car park also formed part of this exciting project.
